Previous workshop experience:
Design thinking workshop
- Our most popular workshop!
- Worked with groups of 30+ people across an international research and engineering community
- The goals of these 2-hour workshops were to have researchers (students, post-docs, professors, etc.) learn key design thinking concepts like brainstorming and build creative confidence through design exercises, as well as network and bond with each other in a fun, team-focused informal conference setting. Learning these skills can have a large positive impact on research, but these skills are largely not taught. We want to help researchers bridge the gap between scientific research and creative design thinking.
Testimonials
This was a brilliant workshop to be part of, really made us put our thinking hats on and think of our work in a different way. Thanks… for pushing me [outside of my] comfort zone.

Another great session by an amazing group. Huge thanks to [Melissa and Hannah]! Working on changing the “yes, but…” to “yes, and…” to facilitate better support and conversation during design thinking.

I used to think that design didn't apply all that much to research projects, now I think it can be really useful and improve the process.

I used to think that I had to have all the ideas, now I think collaboration and brainstorming with others is more effective.

I used to think that I wasn't able to come up with creative research questions; now I think I could if I practiced (Scott's inspirational message at the end stuck with me - we all have the capacity to be creative!)
